Forever Bland |
LyricsForever Bland© 2016 Evan Zappa/Stuck With Green Test audience dictates personality Type cast in my role just so you can see Can't all play the lead can't all win the girl Life is entertainment here in this ole world (Chorus) Bland oh bland Envelop me Be my cloak tonight Hope no one will notice me In this darkened light Ebb and flow eternity Dull hourglass of sand You can have your way with me I'm forever bland Destiny is fickle screenwriter's lament Even Tarantino knows just what he meant Lots of background players fillers in their seats Till the final curtain makes us all complete (Chorus) Bland oh bland Envelop me Be my cloak tonight Hope no one will notice me In this darkened light Ebb and flow eternity Dull hourglass of Sand You can have your way with me I'm forever bland (instrumental break) (Chorus) Bland oh bland Envelop me Be my cloak tonight Hope no one will notice me In this darkened light Ebb and flow eternity Dull hourglass of Sand You can have your way with me I'm forever bland |
Short Song Description: |
Long Song Description: Playing off the seminal theme of Bob Dylan's classic "Forever Young" and Forever Plaid, the off-Broadway musical revue written by Stuart Ross in New York in 1990 and now performed internationally (this show is a revue of the close-harmony "guy groups" that reached the height of their popularity during the 1950s), Stuck With Green and I collaborated on creation of this very distant, opposite concept of a person who views their own existence as "Forever Bland"....never the hero, never gets the girl, leads a dull, perhaps unconscious existence. |
